Goals
To provide a transitional services program for formerly incarcerated students with effective on-ramps to assist them in obtaining the resources and support services needed to achieve their academic and career goals.
Outcomes
- Facilitate support of formerly incarcerated students by (1) developing a repository of industry partners willing to provide internships and jobs and (2) sharing a video that highlights the Rising Scholars programs and resources available at the ten community colleges in the San Diego & Imperial Region.
The Rising Scholars video is a a production funded by the Southwestern College Foundation. The video features members of each college’s professional team and Rising Scholars students, who share about their journey and how the community college has impacted them personally.
