This paper outlines the organizational features that signal empirically associated with successful adoption of new technologies. It specifies that while discussions of new technology on college campuses often deal with “implementation” or the institutional deployment of a new technology, this framework concerns “adoption” or the integration of new technology into end-users’ daily work tasks. The framework covers organizational features in the realms of (1) technological readiness, (2) organizational readiness, (3) project readiness, and (4) motivational readiness.
